The Solution Design is an overall description of the solution, which must support the customer's business needs and requirements, and must give the project team and the customer a joint and aligned overview of how the solution is intended to be composed.
Purpose of EnergyConnect
EnergyConnect manages master data and processes related to the Danish electricity market and the Metering Domain—i.e., information and events relevant to a distribution system operator (DSO), such as metering point topology, time series, meter locations, and other attributes used to operate the grid and support market processes.
EnergyConnect continuously gathers an immense amount of meter readings (millions of data points daily) from the network operator’s meters. These readings are validated, qualified, and processed according to applicable requirements, business rules, and the configuration set by the network operator (e.g., estimation of missing data points). The resulting “market-ready” data is then forwarded to Energinet’s DataHub.
Datahub
Energinet’s DataHub is the central, independent IT system for the Danish electricity retail market. It is owned and operated by Energinet and serves as the shared platform where market participants exchange standardized data and process messages such as:
- Metered values for Danish metering points (consumption/production) and the associated handling of metering data flows.
- Master data needed for settlement and collaboration across roles, ensuring that changes are shared consistently with the relevant parties.
- Settlement basis used in the market which supports the data foundation that enables billing and settlement processes.
